 2017 New Year Party with NCJJ/合同新年会We threw the joint new year party with NCCJ members by courtesy of NCCJ. The party began with a speech by Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Aart JACOBI. The chairman of NCJJ and representaitve of HANJ followed. Then nearly 60 guests raised their glasses to the better year. NCCJの厚意により合同の新年会が開催されました。ヤコビオランダ駐日大使によるオープニングのスピーチ、その後NCJJのチェアマンとHANJ代表によるスピーチがあり、６０人ほどのゲスト全員で素晴らしい2017年を祈って乾杯をしました。 January, 2017 |  2017 New Year Party with NCJJ/合同新年会It’s the time for fun after the toast. There were Dutch dishes, good variety of drinks and sweets.  Panel Discussion on Dutch ElectionOn Friday night of April 7 Holland enthusiasts got together for HANJ's Panel discussion "The Dutch election and populism in Europe." Intriguing discussion on the most fascinating Dutch election ever was held with Prof. Jiro Mizushima of Chiba University and Mr. Ton van Zeeland, of the Embassy of the Netherlands, ranging from the election outcome to Geert Wilders, the questions like whether Nexit will be a possibility and if Russia hacking to Dutch election.  ライデン大学レクチャーイベントライデン大学の教授を招いて行われる毎年恒例の「ライデン大学レクチャーイベント」、今年は天文学のPortegies Zwart教授をお迎えし、太陽系の起源についての講義をして頂きました。「太陽系に迎え入れる移民」と題打ち、日常の出来事を例えとして用いたレクチャー。Q&Aセッションでは高度な質疑応答が繰り広げられました。研究員として東京大学に在籍されていたご経験もあるZwart教授は、レクチャー後のレセプションでもフレンドリーに様々なお話をお聞かせくださいました。最後に、オープニングスピーチをしてくださったルールス オランダ主席公使に、御礼申し上げます。 2015年 11月 |  Cleveringalezing Lecture"Cleveringalezing Lecture" is an annual lecture event given by a professor from Leiden University. This year, we welcomed Professor Prtegies Zwart, an astronomy professor, on the origin of the Solar System. Titling the lecture "Immigrants Welcome in the Solar System", Prof. Zwart presented the lecture in a very crafted way, which was followed by a heated Q&A session We would also like to sincerely thank Mr. Roels, the Deputy Head of Mission, for giving an interesting opening note. Nov. 2015 |  "Nomikai" with Utrecht UniversityHANJ was approached by University of Applied Sciences Utrecht to have an opportunity of mingling with students of Media&Communication Design students upon their study trip to Japan. We had a casual Nomikai, which turned out to be a great opportunity to communicate with energetic students, exchanging ideas on various topics. This was a bit of an “irregular” case among other HANJ events. Happy to report that we had a great time! November, 2015 |

 the Photographer’s talk showMr. Hiroshi Ono, a photographer and the writer based in Amsterdam, gave a special lecture entitled "Holland and Japan in photographs: Bygone and future times – What has change and will never change in the world.” Ms. Sayuri Inoue, a photographer in Rotterdam joined the conversation. 4月１２日、アムステルダム在住14年目の写真家、文筆家の小野博さんのトークショーを「オランダと日本と写真と。」~これまでとこれから、そして、変わったことと変わらないこと。~というタイトルで開催しました。対談にはロッテルダム中心に活動を行っている同じく写真家の井上さゆりさんにも加わって頂きました。 April, 2016 |  the Photographer’s talk showThe latter part of talk show found the introduction of Mr. Ono's photos taken in four different places, Paris, Chernobyl, Fukushima and Holland. He talked about politics, economy, thought and life values through the photoes, which stimulated and touched the hearts of the audience. トークショー後半は小野さんによる写真の紹介がありました。４つの場所（パリ、チェルノブイリ、福島、オランダ）で撮影された写真を通し、小野さんの伝えたい事は、政治、経済、思想、価値観など広範囲に及ぶもので、参加された皆様の心を刺激した事と思います。 April, 2016 |

 Talk session about cycling in TokyoThe event began with a talk session "Making Tokyo Bik-able City" by Mr. Byron Kidd, an bicycle specialist living in Tokyo. He talked how biking was ordinary in the everyday life in Tokyo/Japan whereas he pointed out the poor infrastructure for biking compared to other countries, especially Holland. It was a very interesting as well as eye opening speech. 東京在住の自転車スペシャリスト、キッド・バイロン氏によるトークセッションでは、いかに日本（東京）で自転車が身近であり、その一方で自転車インフラ設備において日本が、特にオランダに比べて非常に遅れている事が、ユーモアを交えて紹介されました。 September, 2016 |  Networking with HANJ membersThe latter part of the event was networking with old and new HANJ members, eating special Indonesian foods and drink catered by Embassy. Some enjoyed the time at the pool side. The 2nd anniversary event successfully ended. イベント後半のネットワーキングでは、出島ラウンジの他プールサイドも会場として解放され、インドネシア料理ビュッフェと飲み物が大使館より振る舞われました。ゲストそれぞれが充実した時間を過ごし、同窓会ネットワーク二周年イベントは大成功に終わりました。 September, 2016 |

 "Flower Arrangement Event"Mr. Yusaku Yamazaki, a Holland Alumni member who studied Dutch flower farming at Japan Agricultural Exchange Council (JAEC) hosted a special spring event to experience his gouges lily. Participants learnt a little bit of lily farming and enjoyed making their own bouquet with beautiful flowers. 同窓会ネットワークのメンバーで、オランダで農業を学ばれた山崎氏がホストをしてくださり、千葉県佐倉市にある同氏の山崎農園にて春のフラワーブーケ作りイベントが行われました。山崎氏による百合栽培の楽しいレッスンの後、山崎氏ご夫婦が丹誠込めて育てた百合を中心に豪華なブーケ作りを楽しみました。 April 18 |  |

 "Movie Event - Screening "The screening event was held at the Dutch Embassy Residence, inviting Ms. Yuki Sunada, the director. The film, "Children's Tears - Searching for Japanese Fathers" depicts actual, ongoing stories of children who were born to Dutch Indonesian women and Japanese soldiers during the WW2 and have been searching for their biological fathers. 大使公邸にて、砂田監督をお招きし"Children's Tears - Searching for Japanese Fathers"の上映会を開催しました。本作品は第二次世界大戦中のインドネシアで日本軍と蘭印系女性との間に産まれた子供達が本当の父親を探す人生を描いたドキュメンタリーです。 June, 2015 |  "Movie Event - Q&A and Reception"During the Q & A session, Director Ms. Sunada shared her strong messages put into the film with us, which gave us a valuable learning opportunity about the history which tends to be ignored by our society.  "Siege of Leiden - History"We were very honored to have been invited to attend "Siege of Leiden" event by Ambassador for the first time. About 30 members joined the evening. We toasted the event after a historical lecture on the resistance of Leiden people and the Spanish origin of "hutspot" from Ambassador. 大使より「ライデン解放記念イベント」にオランダアルムナイネットワークジャパンメンバーをご招待頂き、約３０名が参加しました。まず始めに大使がイベントの歴史的意義を説明されました。スペイン軍に屈しなかったライデン市民の戦い、ヒュッツポットが実はスペイン由来の料理であったことなどを学びました。 October, 2015 |  "Siege of Leiden - Dinner time"During the dinner time, herring, hotspot with brown source and white bread were served just as expected.  “Vermeer – his Life and Works.”Professor Yoriko Kobayashi-Sato, our member and the scholar specialized in the Dutch paintings study gave us a fascinating lecture. So many intriguing facts and keen analysis on Vermeer works and his works were revealed during the lecture. Active “Q&A” exchange session helped us have deeper understanding on him and his works as well. フェルメールの第一人者として高名な小林頼子教授による講演会が、在日オランダ大使館にて行われました。最後の質疑応答も非常に盛り上がり、フェルメールに対する理解を深めることができました。 March, 2015 |  “Vermeer – his Life and Works.”After the lecture was awaiting the special dinner organized by our enthusiastic board members – Harring, traditional bread, “kaas”, “hagelslagen” and stroopwafel... we felt like we were brought back to the time in the Netherlands. 講義を 楽しんだ参加者を待ち受けていたのは、オランダ尽くしの晩御飯でした。熱の入ったボードメンバーが用意をしたハーリング、チーズ、パン、そしてストロープワッフルなどの“ごちそう”の数々には、オランダ大使館からのの参加者も舌鼓を。 March, 2015 |

 Joint Shinnenkai with NCCJ （合同新年会）Last Wednesday, the joint Shinnenkai with NCCJ was taken place at the Brasserie Va-tout in Roppongi. With the attendance of 67 members in total (Thank you for those who joined!), we all enjoyed the mingling in a great atmosphere. This Shinnenkai brought HANJ members new encounters and opportunities, hopefully likewise to the NCCJ members. The party also made us re-realize the deep history between Japan and the Netherlands, and that we have diverse potential among us ahead as well. January. 2015 |

 PECHAKUCHA NIGHT (ペチャクチャナイト)The very first “PECHAKUCHA NIGHT” of the Holland Aluminum Network Japan (HANJ) was held on 26th November. Thank you all for those who came to this event! Despite the sad weather, HANJ had the fabulously lively PECHAKUCHA NIGHT. After having enjoyed the exciting and inspirational presentations given by 4 guest speakers, participants and the speakers had amusing time chatting with food and drinks under the “Sinterklaas” atmosphere.
